How it Happened:
The first three innings of the game between the visiting Bobcats and the home Golden Eagles were scoreless, Austin Dzierwa only allowing one walk to Frostburg State. In the top of the fourth the scoring finally got broken open, the Bobcats getting on the board first. The first two batters for Frostburg got on base with singles, the leadoff advancing to third for a first and third situation with no outs. The next batter up hit a fly ball to left field allowing the runner on third to score for the first run of the game. The Golden Eagles kept the Bobcats to just one run in the inning.

Charleston got things going in the bottom of the fifth when Hector Carreon Herrera led the inning off with a solo shot to right field to tie the game at 1-1. The next batter up Carter Rust singled and then stole second to put himself in scoring position for Evan Ulrich. Ulrich singled into left field allowing the speedy Rust to score and give Charleston the 2-1 advantage.

Frostburg was down to their last three outs as the game entered the top of the 7th with Charleston ahead 2-1. The Bobcats got to work with a single and then moved the runner into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. The next batter up singled into center field, scoring the run to tie the game, and advancing to second on the throw, another runner in scoring position for Frostburg State. The next batter struck out, and the batter following was hit by a pitch, runners now at first and second with two outs. The next Bobcat to the plate singled to right field allowing one run to score, and the runner headed to third advanced home on an errant throw, the Bobcats taking the lead 4-2. In the bottom of the third Charleston plated their first run of the contest on a Drew Klaserner double that scored AJ Karosas from second base. The Golden Eagles now only trailing by one, 2-1 the score.

The Bobcats responded in the top of the fourth with their third run of the contest. Frostburg State had bases loaded after singles and hit by pitch to start the inning. The run came off a bases loaded groundout to third that allowed the runner on third to advance home.
