In Charleston's first set of set of the spring break tour, the Golden Eagles fell 25-14 to a 5-5 Concordia Irvine squad. After a first set downfall, the Golden Eagles of Charleston turned things around and took set two of the match 25-23. The third set of the evening was well contested from both sides, but the Golden Eagles of Irvine took the set 25-20. The fourth set of the night looked like it would go in the way of Charleston, but late in the set Irvine went on a run and turned things around in their favor, eventually taking the set 27-25 over Charleston.

Opposite hitter Garret Schnitker had 17 kills for Charleston in the match while Cole Duncanson hit .444 in the four-set match.

How it Happened:
All four sets in the match between the Tritons and the Golden Eagles were close, starting with set one which went in favor of UC San Diego 25-23. The set was in favor of Charleston 15-9 at one point, before the Tritons went on a run of their own to get back, eventually taking the lead 20-19. Form their points were traded back and forth until the Tritons reached the first set victory 25-23.

Set two was the opposite, with UC San Diego taking the early lead 11-6 before Charleston rallied back to close the score at 13-12 UCSD. The next several points were traded all the way to 25-25, but a kill and a service ace brought the set to a close, in favor of the Tritons 27-25.

In set three Charleston jumped out of the gate with a 6-1 lead. The Tritons fought back, but Charleston maintained a lead all the way to the end taking the third set 25-22.

The fourth set was back and forth action with side outs being traded all the way to 25-25. The Tritons took the lead with a kill, but Charleston took the next point off a Triton service error to tie it once again. A UC service error gave UC San Diego the lead once more, and with an untimely UC attack error, the Tritons took the fourth set victory, claiming the match over Charleston.
