How It Happened
Charleston had come into this matchup fresh off two hard-fought wins the previous week over Notre Dame and Davis & Elkins by a combined score of 25-20. Despite the two-day break from Saturday to Tuesday, the Golden Eagles were on fire at their home complex. They would find their first ever shutout victory in program history, limiting the Bobcats to just four shots total on the day and one on target in the first quarter that was well-collected by goalkeeper Megan Liston. On the other end of the field, the Golden Eagles had a season-high of 44 total shots with 31 on target, making it a difficult day for the Bobcat defense to find any momentum throughout the 60 minutes.

Defensively, graduate midfielder Nicolette Lospitalier was all over the field on Tuesday. She would compile five caused turnovers and eight groundballs while also scoring three goals for the Golden Eagles. Charleston's leading goal-scorer Madison Partridge would lead the charge once more offensively with five goals on eleven shots total. Fellow sophomore Darby Stolz would also have herself an afternoon with four goals scored on five shots for Charleston.

The midfield was locked down exceptionally well by the Golden Eagles as they held West Virginia Wesleyan's clear attempts to less than half converted on the day, which allowed for a large number of opportunities in the attacking third. After the final horn, Charleston would take the 20-0 victory at home over the Bobcats.
