Score: UC 3, SLU 2

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles went down in order in inning one of the road match against Slippery Rock and the Rock got themselves on the board first in the bottom half of the inning. The leadoff batter reached on a single and then the next batter was walked before the third batter of the inning grounded out to the short stop advancing both runners. The first run for Slippery Rock was scored when the next batter grounded out to second base allowing the runners to advance and a run to score. The next Rock run came two batters later off a single down the left field line that scored the runner from third.
The second and third were hitless for both sides, only run runner reaching base for Slippery Rock. Charleston found some momentum in the top of the fourth when they plated their first run of the afternoon. The first two Golden Eagles to bat in the inning worked full count walks. Brayden McCallister then stole third base to put runners on the corners for Evan Ulrich who flew out to left field for an RBI. The Rock managed the damage and left the inning with the 2-1 lead.
Charleston kept Slippery Rock to just two hits over the next two innings, the Golden Eagles heading to bat in the top of the sixth. Brayden McCallister and JD Armstrong were once again the catalyst for Charleston, both reaching on singles to have runners on first and second for Eric Chartier. Chartier laid down a sacrifice bunt that advanced both runners, Charleston now with second and third and one out. Evan Ulrich was next to bat and did strike out swinging, but the ball got past the catcher, forcing the catcher to make a play at first to get Ulrich out. Due to the throw needing to go to first, McCallister advanced home to score Charleston's second run. With a runner on third base, Hector Carreon Herrera singled to center field, Charleston taking the 3-2 advantage.
Charleston's bullpen went to work in the next several innings, keeping Slippery Rock off the board, only allowing two hits for the remainder of the game for Templeton, Godbold, and Ritchie. Joe Simonetta was awarded the win for Charleston while Trey Ritchie collected his second save of the season.
