YOUNGSTOWN, Oh.—University of Charleston Men's & Women's Cross Country participated in the Youngstown Invitational for their second race of the season.
The men raced to a stunning first place finish with a score of 50, where they went 1-2-5-9-10. Senior Zane Chalker finished in first place with a time of 25:56.17, which also set a new course record. Samuel Idiens trailed closely behind, claiming the second place spot at 25:59.21.
As a team, the women raced to a fifth place finish with a score of 142. Senior Madison Woolwine crossed the finish line first for Charleston at 19:12.41, which was good for ninth place. Senior Mercy Jepleting was the second Golden Eagle to finish. She placed nineteenth with a time of 19:49.20.
