Buckhannon, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles remain undefeated in 2025, securing an 82-65 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan. Freshman Matthew Shelton led the charge with an efficient 24 points.

How it Happened:
The first half was a tightly contested battle, but with 11:11 remaining, senior Keaton Turner's layup gave Charleston the lead for good. The Golden Eagles maintained their advantage throughout, and Shelton capped off the half with a 3-pointer, sending Charleston into the break with a 41-32 lead.
To start the second half, freshman Ja'Corey Lipkins sank two free throws to extend the lead, and Charleston never looked back. Another 3-pointer from Turner at the 11:24 mark pushed the lead to 19 points, as the Golden Eagles steadily cruised to victory. Freshman Trevor Barrett put the finishing touches on the win with a fast-break layup and two free throws, securing the 82-65 final.
Charleston's offense was led by Shelton's 24 points, while senior Dwaine Jones dished out 12 assists, marking yet another double-digit assist performance for the playmaker.
