ELKINS, W.Va. — Charleston took care of business on the road Tuesday night, handling Davis & Elkins in straight sets at the McDonnell Center. The Golden Eagles dictated the pace from the opening serve, using steady runs in each frame to keep the Senators from gaining momentum.

How it Happened:
Charleston set the tone early in the first set. After trailing briefly at 5–4, the Golden Eagles stormed ahead with a 10–2 run led by kills from Kate Strong and Kalista Milne to build a 14–7 cushion. UC continued to press, stretching the margin with a pair of service aces from Chloe Fortner and closing the frame 25–15.
The second set followed a similar script. Davis & Elkins pulled within 11–10, but the Golden Eagles rattled off six unanswered points behind steady setting from Chloe Burton and two kills from Giuliana Batista to push the lead to 17–10. Charleston controlled the rest of the set and finished 25–15 to go up 2–0 in the match.
In the third, UC wasted no time putting the Senators away. With the score 9–8, the Golden Eagles surged with another 8–1 run, highlighted by a pair of Majos blocks and a Strong ace. Charleston never let up, cruising to a 25–14 win to complete the sweep.
Kate Strong led the way with eight kills, three blocks, and an ace. Kalista Milne followed with seven kills and five digs, while Giuliana Batista added five kills. Patrycja Majos chipped in three kills and two blocks.
At setter, Abby Avila finished with 10 assists and an ace, and Chloe Burton added 12 assists. On defense, libero Chloe Fortner collected five digs and three aces. Milne added five digs, and Avila and Burton each had two. Giuliana Batista and Matea Cunningham also contributed in the back row.
