Charleston, W.Va. – Charleston fell to #14 West Liberty Hilltoppers at home on Saturday.

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles got off to a hot start in Saturdays contest. Charleston went on a 14-3 run forcing a timeout early for the Hilltoppers. Following the timeout, the Hilltoppers began chipping away, eventually knotting the scoring at 26-26 with 7:56 still to play in the first half.
Moments later the Hilltoppers grabbed the lead, holding a 12-point advantage at one point. Charleston trailed for the remainder of the half, heading to the locker room down ten 50-40.
In the second half the Hilltoppers held the lead for the first ten minutes, but the Golden Eagles began inching back into the contest, cutting away at the 12-point deficit and eventually tying the contest at 64-64 with 9:36 left to play. Despite the momentary stalemate, West Liberty quickly regained the lead and did not look back.
The contest finished with West Liberty taking home the win, defeating Charleston 95-81.
Trevor Barrett had 17 points in the contest and Dwaine Jones had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
