Charleston, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles fell to the #12 Fighting Falcons on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles got the game with #12 Fairmont State started with back-to-back dunks by seven-footer Zach Loveday. The next several minutes of play where back and forth buckets from both teams, until the 10:52 mark where Fairmont State took the lead and ran with it. The Golden Eagles trailed by 19 as they headed into the locker room for halftime.
In the second half, the Golden Eagles had to fight their way back, cutting the deficit down to 11-points with just over twelve minutes left in the contest. Several moments later the Golden Eagles cut the deficit even further, now only trailing 60-54 with 7:37 left to play. The teams traded points for a few minutes and as the clock wound down, Charleston gave their final fight, cutting down the lead one final time, after a big time three-pointer followed by an and one from Ja'Corey Lipkins, Charleston trailing 74-72. The Golden Eagles were forced to foul Fairmont on the next inbound, but the Falcons hit both of their shots, taking the lead to 76-72. With mere seconds left on the clock, Charleston tried to draw up a play, but the four-point deficit was too large a task and Charleston fell to Fairmont State 76-72.
