Charleston, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles swept the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan College this past weekend, improving to .500 on the season.
GAME 1
The Basics:

Score: UC 7, WVWC 0
Records: Charleston 17-20 (12-7 MEC), West Virginia Wesleyan 12-24 (6-13 MEC)
How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles bats came alive in the third and fourth innings of game one, tallying seven total runs. Four of those runs came in the third inning off four hits. Casey Finck, Moose Lemond, Damian Witty, and Evan Ulrich all collecting RBI's.
Carter Rust started the fourth off with a solo homerun to extend their lead 5-0. Moose Lemond collected his second RBI of the game with a bases loaded walk. Evan Ulrich then singled scoring Finck from third to take the 7-0 lead.
Tyson Willis went the distance for Charleston, giving up just one hit in the victory.
GAME 2
The Basics:

Score: UC 13, WVWC 1
Records: Charleston 18-20 (13-7 MEC), West Virginia Wesleyan 12-25 (6-14 MEC)
How it Happened:
The Charleston bats continued to excel in game two of the series, scoring thirteen runs on fourteen hits in a 13-1 win over the Bobcats. Casey Finck was hot for the Golden Eagles, going 3-3 with two homeruns, 4 RBI's and a walk in the victory. Evan Ulrich, Wilfredo Mendez, Ryan Comella, and John Stansbury each collected an RBI.
Mason Behn picked up the win on the mound with five innings pitched. William VanMeter and Mac Crismond each threw a scoreless inning of relief for Charleston, VanMeter striking out three in his appearance.
GAME 3
The Basics:
Location: Welch Athletic Complex
Score: UC 21, WVWC 2
Records: Charleston 19-20 (14-7 MEC), West Virginia Wesleyan 12-26 (6-15 MEC)
How it Happened:
Casey Fink drove in four runs on two hits to lead Charleston past West Virginia Wesleyan 21-2 on Saturday. In the fourth inning, Fink homered to right field, scoring three runs.
Charleston got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Colin Kemp singled, scoring one run, Samuel Lemond homered to left field, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Damian Witty grounded out, scoring one run, and Ryan Comella laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.
Charleston scored five runs on one hit in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Fink was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Kemp tripled, scoring three runs.
Ten more Charleston runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 21-0. Comella singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Fink homered to right field, scoring three runs, Evan Ulrich doubled, scoring two runs, Trent Dosenbach singled, scoring one run, and Witty tripled, scoring two runs.
Austin Perando earned the win for Charleston. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Eli Brogan took the loss for West Virginia Wesleyan. The hurler went three innings, giving up 11 runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking none. Alec Mendoza and Harry Lamont each appeared in relief for Charleston.
Charleston accumulated 13 hits in the game. Lemond, Ulrich, Fink, Kemp, and Dosenbach each collected two hits for Charleston.
GAME 4
The Basics:
Location: Welch Athletic Complex
Score: UC 3, WVWC 1
Records: Charleston 20-20 (15-7 MEC), West Virginia Wesleyan 12-27 (6-16 MEC)
How it Happened:
Charleston scored the initial run of the ballgame in the bottom of the first inning as Evan Ulrich grounded out to the shortstop to score Casey Finck from third. The Bobcats then tied the game at 1-1 when a bases loaded hit by pitch plated the runner from third.
Casey Finck gave the Golden Eagles the lead back in the bottom of the third when the lefty blasted his fourth homerun of the weekend, this one a solo shot for the 2-1 advantage. Evan Ulrich then plated the go ahead run for Charleston in the bottom of the fifth on a single through the left side to plate Lemond.
Trace Hartman collected the win after throwing two scoreless innings of relief work for Charleston. Tanner Evans picked up his third save of the season after closing out the seventh.

The Golden Eagles will head to Athens, WV for a four game MEC series with the Mountain Lions of Concord University.
