Charleston, W.Va. — The University of Charleston men's basketball team delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, cruising to an 85-64 victory over Salem University in front of the home crowd.

How it Happened:
From the opening tip, Charleston set the tone with efficient offense and aggressive ball movement. The Golden Eagles outpaced Salem 32-27 in the first half and opened the game in the second, outscoring the Tigers 53-37 behind hot shooting and timely drives. Charleston's pace and execution kept Salem on its heels, limiting sustained runs and controlling the boards.
 
Freshman, Kaden Davis led the Golden Eagles with a team-high 15 points, capitalizing on his inside presence and drawing fouls to help Charleston stay in control in tight moments. Eli Robertson provided a huge lift with 14 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Hamilton Campbell played a steady floor game for Charleston, contributing 11 points while facilitating the offense. His ability to rebound and dish key assists helped sustain offensive pressure throughout the game. Balanced scoring from Ben Nicol and Matthew Shelton, each chipping in 8 points, underscored Charleston's depth and team-first mentality.
 
The win on Saturday marked a strong showing for Charleston, showcasing an offense that continues to find rhythm and a defense that can clamp down when needed. With momentum on their side, the Golden Eagles will look to carry this performance into their upcoming Mountain East Conference slate.
