Charleston, W.Va. - The University of Charleston Golden Eagles lost after five sets on Saturday in their final game of the UC/WVSU Crossover Tournament.

How It Happened:
In set one, Charleston and Roosevelt traded points back and forth, with neither team able to find separation. The score was at an even draw ten times within the set, but was won out by RU. The second set began similarly, until Charleston scored 5 straight points, ending the set on an 11-4 run. In set three, RU pulled away with an early 12-5 lead that UC could not catch up to. After overcoming a 4-0 run to start the fourth set, Charleston was able to battle back and take it 26-24. This then forced the decisive fifth set, but Roosevelt was able to go on a late run and take it 15-9.
Divine Muo led the Golden Eagles offense with 13 kills with a .314 hitting percentage. Charleston received a stellar defensive effort from Sahana Rajesh who led the match with 29 digs. Kate Strong had a match-high 7 blocks and London Upchurch contributed 10 assists.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Greensburg, PA to play in the Seton Hill Classic. Their first game will be on Friday, September 11th at 4:00 PM against West Viginia Wesleyan College.
