CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The University of Charleston men's basketball team had a hard-time finding the bottom of the net in a 68-50 defeat to conference opponent Alderson-Broaddus, Saturday night. Charleston shot just 28 percent for the contest on 15-of-53 shooting.
UC (3-5, 1-3) turned the ball over a season-low 12 times, yet could not overcome an off-night from the floor with the visiting Battlers (5-2, 3-2) seemingly making everything they put towards the basket shooting 60 percent (24-of-40).
The Golden Eagles were led by senior John White with his third-straight double digit scoring effort as he paced the scoring with 15 points and eight rebounds. White managed most of his points from the free throw line as he led all players with a 9-for-12 effort from the charity stripe.
Senior James Eversley provided two highlight style blocks on the evening to move into third-place all-time in the UC recordbooks. Eversley is now just six blocks behind Ron Gaitor who sits in the second spot with 112 blocks.
Alderson-Broaddus was led by three players in double-digits as Roy Brown led with 19 points, while Nate Barnes and Cory Neale followed with 15 and 10 points.
The Golden Eagles will look to snap the current three game losing skid as they travel to conference opponent Concord on Saturday, December 11 for a 3:00 pm tipoff.
