The University of Charleston's Athletic Department has just signed a five-year apparel and equipment deal with BSN SPORTS and Nike. The Golden Eagles are just wrapping up a five-year deal with Nike and after consulting with several competing companies, the University has opted to enter into another five-year agreement with Nike as the premier dealer of athletic gear, and BSN SPORTS as the largest distributor of team sports apparel and equipment in the United States.
Dr. Bren Stevens, the Director of Athletics stated that "Nike is synonymous with excellence, drive, and competitive success, which closely aligns with the mission of our department. Furthermore, our student-athletes love to wear Nike apparel; and our coaches often share that they are asked by recruits if we are a "Nike" school it has been beneficial to answer in the affirmative." The partnership with Nike allows for all 20 athletic programs to have a consistent, vibrant, and professional look both on and off the court, field or track.
The University of Charleston sponsors 20 athletic programs which includes the following: baseball, men's basketball, men's cross country, football, men's golf, men's indoor track, men's soccer, men's tennis, men's track and field, men's volleyball, women's basketball, women's cross country, women's golf, women's indoor track, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, softball, women's tennis, women's track and field, women's volleyball, and a co-ed cheer squad. The University of Charleston is a proud member of NCAA Division II, Mountain East Conference (MEC), and the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA).

Over the past several years, Dr. Stevens has stated publically her goal is to develop an athletics program that is consistently playing for national championships in a multitude of sports, along with becoming well-known as a Division II destination for top athletes. This latest contract with Nike & BSN SPORTS allows the University of Charleston's Athletics Department to continue moving towards that goal.
