BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The University of Charleston's Michael Strachan is the MEC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, and Wheeling's Danielle Stewart is the league's Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week. 

Strachan, a junior from Freeport, Bahamas, was second in the 400-meter dash at the Liberty Kickoff last weekend. Strachan's time of 48.31 was good for an NCAA provisional qualfying time and is currently 10th-best in the country. 

Stewart, a senior from Strongsville, Ohio, won the pole vault at the SPIRE Midwest Collegiate Invitational last week with a jump of 3.70 meters. Her mark is currently 17th-best in NCAA Division II.
