CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Lacrosse program (2-2, 0-0 MEC) will return home on Tuesday for a matchup against the Arrows from Ursuline College with draw scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Welch Athletic Complex. The game will mark the first of three home games for Charleston in the next seven days before conference play begins on March 19
th against Notre Dame College. The Golden Eagles head into Tuesday after defeating the Battlers from Alderson Broaddus by a score of 18-13 last week in a game that saw
Isabelle Pisani tie the program points record with eight (six goals, two assists).

nd, the Golden Eagles got on the board first at the 25:00 minute mark as
Mckenna Kincaid gave UC a 1-0 lead before
Rachel Kerwin extended the lead to two just a minute later. The Battlers were able to fight and take the lead back with three straight goals over a four-minute stretch, two which came from Leslie Diaz as the Battlers led 3-2 at the halfway mark of the first half. Just 90 seconds later, Pisani got on the board with her first goal of the day before goals from Renda and
Elishia Davis allowed for Charleston to regain the lead at 5-3 with ten minutes left in the half.
To close out the half, the Battlers outscored the Golden Eagles 4-2 as both UC goals came from Gearing while Diaz added two more to extend her total to four. At the break, the Golden Eagles and the Battlers were deadlocked at 8-8.
The Golden Eagles came out and scored just one minute into the second half as
Meagan Helber scored unassisted. From there, Bailey Fendun scored a pair of goals for the Battlers before a third from Brooke Dinehart put the home team ahead 11-9 at the 21:52 mark in the second half. From there, it was all Charleston as the Golden Eagles would outscore the Battlers 9-2 for the duration of the contest including five which came from Pisani to secure an 18-13 win for Charleston.
Charleston, who has struggled offensively over their last two games, got back to their ways on Tuesday as they outshot the Battlers 35-27. Each team posted 19 turnovers while UC had the advantage in clear attempts, converting 19-of-23. In addition, UC took a 16-15 advantage in draw controls while the goalkeeping tandem of Kyra Tye and Georgia Ryan combined for nine saves.
In the win,
Alexis Stuck was able to record 100 ground balls in her UC career, the first to reach the mark in program history.

Scouting the Opponent:
Ursuline comes into Tuesday having lost their first two games to begin the season. After falling to Gannon at home on February 24
th, the Arrows next game against Ashland last week saw Ursuline lose by a score of 20-10. Charleston will be the first of two MEC opponents that the arrows will square off against this week (Wesleyan on Friday). The Arrows are led offensively by Jaclyn Gilmore, who in two games has notched six goals and three assists for a total of nine points. Between the pipes, junior Emily Hall has played both games, allowing a total of 38 goals while recording 21 saves. Dating back to last season, Ursuline has dropped ten of their last 11 games while this will mark the first time the teams have matched up in their histories.
