Box Score Charleston, W. VA. - The University of Charleston Men's Basketball team picked up their first win of the year over the Saint Augustine's Falcons in their second matchup of the MEC/PSAC Tip Off Challenge with a 62-59 victory.

The Falcons went against an impressive Glenville State Pioneers squad the night before losing 75-87

The Golden Eagles were led offensively by Junior Eddie Colbert and the longtime veteran Lamont McManus. Colbert and McManus both contributed 16 points each in the win.

It was a slow start offensively for both squads, but the Falcons were able to earn a pair of jumpers to get the scoring started within the first 4 minutes of the half. Charleston managed to take the lead after Keith Williams put the team ahead with a three pointer to go up 25-23 with 4:42 left to go. The Falcons gained the lead just before going into the locker room with a Dhashon Dyson jumper that put his team up 31-29 at the end of the half.

After a few missed shots to start the second half, Dyson proceeded to put points up for the Falcons with a pair of three pointers and mid-range shots that maintained the lead momentarily. The Golden Eagles battled back and regained the lead with McManus' layup in the paint to put them up 56-54 with 3:49 in the game. Charleston was able to uphold their lead with a composed defensive strategy formulated by Head Coach Dwaine Osborne.
