BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Charleston's Hannah Rose is the Mountain East Conference Softball Player of the Week, while Notre Dame's Taylor Olson is the league's Pitcher of the Week, the league announced today. 
 
Rose, a freshman from Wahama, W.Va., helped UC to a 4-2 week going 7-for-13 at the plate (.538), including 6-for-12 (.500) in conference play over the weekend. She drove in five runs in four games as the Golden Eagles split with Concord and swept Glenville State.
 
Olson, a senior from Perrysburg, N.Y., went 3-0 in the circle last week for the Falcons with a pair of complete game shutouts. She went the distance and struck out 12 in a shutout win over Gannon, and then gave up just three hits and earned a shutout against West Liberty. She closed the week pitching four innings and giving up two earned as the Falcons defeated Wheeling.
