CHARLESTON, W.Va. - On Friday, University of Charleston Men's and Women's Track and Field continued their season at the Grand Valley State Holiday Opener and the Marshall Opener on Friday with successful placings.
Marshall Opener
Men's 60m
Charleston had three top ten finishers in the Men's 60 meters with Roberto Agrizzi being the first Golden Eagle to cross the finish line with a time of 7.06, which was good for fifth place. Omar Holness and Tim Gutzeit finished closely behind in sixth and ninth place.
Men's 300m
Antonio Sneed finished in second place with a time of 35.85, while Omar Holness finished in fourth place with a time of 36.02.
Men's 400m
Five Golden Eagles finished in the top ten with Timber Huysmans racing to another first place finish with a time of 48.74 seconds. Colin Hunkele finished in second place, Alejandro Salgado in fourth, Bram De React in sixth and Damian Smith in ninth.
Men's 1000m
Jose Antonio-Maldonado finished in third place for the Golden Eagles with a time of 2:39.66, while Blake Stanton finished in eighth place with a time of 3:09.75.
Men's 60 Hurdles
Roberto Agrizzi was the top finisher in the Men's 60 Hurdles, as he finished in second place with a time of 8.39.
Men's 4 x 400 Relay
Damian Smith, Michael Garrett, Alejandro Salgado and Colin Hunkele raced to a first place finish with a time of 3:19.99.
Men's High Jump
Ras Jesse Delancy finished in second place with a mark of 1.95 meters, while Mees and Michael Garrett tied for sixth place with a mark of 1.85 meters.
Men's Weight Throw
Jullian Matthews won the Men's Weight Throw with a mark of 14.52 meters. Luke Messinger finished in fifth place with a mark of 13.30 meters.
Women's 60m
Colette Patti was the first Golden Eagle to cross the finish line for Charleston, as she finished in fifth place with a time of 7.96. Dasheya Booker, Minke Engelbrecht and Mariah McCann-Coles finished eight, nine and 10, while Aleisha Coolen, Mia Huber and Kendal Domenico finished 12, 13 and 14.
Women's 300m
Sage McLaughlin was the top finisher for Charleston. She finished in third place with a time of 44.71.
Women's 400m
Camilia Hoya finished in second place with a time of 58.39 seconds, while Balie Destefano, Erica Davis and Dasheya Booker finished five, six and seven.
Women's High Jump
Destefano took first place in the Women's High Jump with a mark of 1.55 meters, while Kalista Milne finished in third with a mark of 1.45 meters.
Women's Pole Vault
Amara Mason snagged second place with a mark of 2.55 meters.
Women's Long Jump
Laura Delgado de Torres was the top finisher for Charleston with a mark of 5.29 meters. Miriam Dreyer, Stefani Vasileva and Kayla Lemkus went six, seven and eight.
Women's Shot Put
Charleston had three top ten finishers with Abby McKinney finishing in second place with a mark of 12.25 meters, Mallory Crowder finishing in fourth place with a mark of 11.18 meters and Ella Nilsson finishing in tenth with a mark of 9.07 meters.
Women's Weight Throw
Abby McKinney finished in fourth place with a mark of 15.72 meters.
GVSU Holiday Opener
Men's 800m
Warren Thiel took fourth place with a time of 1:52.49.
Men Shot Put
Frankie Winter took seventh place with a mark of 14.79 meters.
Women 300m Run H2
Mercy Jepleting won the Women 3000m Run H2 with a time of 10:28.84.
Women 5000m Run H2
Jeanne Corroy was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles, as she finished in eleventh place with a time of 17:37. Madison Woolwine finished behind Corroy in 21st place with a time of 18:05.98.
