UC Track & Field Dominate at Marietta First Glimpse

University of Charleston Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field started the season off on the right foot, winning 29 different events at the Marietta First Glimpse in Marietta, Ohio on Friday. 

Results

Men's 55m
Antonio Sneed and Timber Huysmans took first and second place in the men's 55 meters, as they also both broke the school's previous record of 6.39 with a time of 6.38 seconds. Sneed now holds the new record, beating Huysmans by .002. Colin Hunkele claimed the third spot with a time of 6.58, Tim Gutzeit claimed fifth place with a time of 6.67 and Alejandro Salgado crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 6.75.

Men's 200m
Charleston swept the first five slots in the men's 200 meter dash with Huysmans winning with a time of 21.97, a division qualifying national standard in 100 meter dash. Bram De Raedt, Colin Hunkele, Antonio Sneed and Roberto Agrizzi went two, three, four five following Huysmans.

Men's 400m
Michael Garrett and Joshua Sterner took first and second place in the men's 400 meters with Garrett crossing the finish line with a time of 51.28 and Sterner crossing the finish line with a time of 51.70.

Men's 800m
Damian Smith was runner up in the men's 800 meter with a time of 2:00.18.

Men's 3k
Ryan Blackwell took home first place in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:13.29. 

Men's 55 Hurdles
Mathias Mees and Bram De Raedt snagged second and third place in the men's 55 hurdles with times of 7.85 and 8.24.

Men's Pole Vault
Mathias Mees also won the pole vault with a mark of 3.83m.

Men's Long Jump
Letlhogonolo Ramafuthula was runner up in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.00 meters, while Mees took fourth, Alejandro Salgado took sixth and Blake Stanton took eleventh place.

Men's Triple Jump
Ramafuthula took first place with a mark of 13.34 meters.

Men's Shot Put
Kellen Tropeck came out on top in shot put with a mark of 15.54 meters.

Men's Weight Throw
Tropeck was also victorious in the weight throw, taking first with a mark of 17.15 meters.

Women's 200m
Colette Patti was runner up in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 26.70. Dasheya Booker, Maliah McCann-Coles, Erica Davis and Sage McLaughlin finished seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth place, while Emily Kupfner and Braley Murphy finished in twelfth and thirteenth place for the Golden Eagles.

Women's 400m
Camilia Hoya raced to a first place finish in the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 59.34, while teammates Balie Destefano and Erica Davis claimed the second and third place slots with times of 1:01.42 and 1:03.62. Sage McLaughlin finished in fifth place with a time of 1:09.60 and Kendal Domenick finished in seventh with a time of 1:24.30.

Women's 800m
The Golden Eagles swept the first four spots in the women's 800 meter dash with Patricia Alonso-Munoz finishing first with a time of 2:27.23, Maya Clark finishing second with a time of 2:32.65, Marina Barahona finishing third with a time of 2:33.30 and Laura Delgado de Torres finishing fourth with a time of 2:34.46.

Women's 55 Hurdles
Charleston claimed spots one through five and seven through eight in the Women's 55 Hurdles with the first place slot being claimed by Minke Engelbrecht with a time of 8.59.

Women's 4x400 Relay
Marina Barahona, Balie Destefano, Camilia Hoya and Maya Clark were crowned winners in the Women's 4x400 relay with a time of 4:06.07.

Women's Long Jump
Stefani Vasileva captured first place in the women's long jump at 17 feet two inches. Kayla Lemkus finished in third place, Demenica Cruz finished in fifth place, Mia Huber finished in sixth place and Amara Mason finished in seventh place.

Women's Shot Put
Abby McKinney snagged first place in the women's shot put.

Women's Weight Throw
McKinney also captured first place in the women's weight throw.
