The Golden Eagles got the jump on the Bears by taking two of the three doubles matches. First doubles (Rawson / Stevens) and second doubles (Giesberts/ Garcia) only dropped one game between both matches.
In singles, Vicente Garcia (#2), Jowan Rawson (#3), and Farhaan Patrawala (#4) all started strong and finished quickly. It was Patrawala who gave the Golden Eagles the clinching point. The remainder of the singles players also won, which gave the Golden Eagles a sweep. The three players lost a total of 4 games throughout their matches.
Man of the match goes to Vicente Garcia, who didn't lose a game the entire day.
Coach Alec Foote said, "The guys played well today. If we can have this kind of intensity and this level of play, we will be very tough to beat."
Next up is Mercyhurst on Sunday, February 26th.
