SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The University of Charleston men's and women's cross country teams concluded their 2024 season at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Competing on the national stage, the men's team finished 29th overall, while Beth Sykes represented the women's team as an individual competitor.
Leading the men's team, Sam Idiens turned in a strong performance, placing 57th with a time of 30:53.9. He was followed by Zane "Iggy" Chalker in 134th place (31:40.1), Jules Geoffrey-Remot in 176th (32:13.1), Corey Schobelock in 188th (32:25.5), Alex Jackson in 234th (33:19.5), Brady Miller in 245th (33:50.9), and Cole Friend in 249th (34:01.3).
On the women's side, Beth Sykes showcased her talents as the sole Golden Eagle, placing 84th with a time of 22:01.8 in the 6K race.
The meet marks the end of a successful season for Charleston cross country.
