4×400 school record highlights Charleston track weekend

Charleston, W.Va. – The University of Charleston men's and women's track and field teams competed across two meets this weekend, sending athletes to the 12th Annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational and the Grand Valley State Big Meet, producing school records, personal bests, and multiple podium finishes.
 
12th Annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational
60-meter hurdles
Mallori Dunn-Martin highlighted the meet by setting a new school record, running 8.86 to advance to the semifinals. Massimo Pantano also advanced, placing 14th overall with a time of 8.27 before improving to 8.14 in the semifinal round.
400 meters
Cosmo Johnson competed in the event, finishing with a time of 50.95.
Long jump
Aiden Miller placed 21st with a mark of 5.95 meters.
200 meters (Invitational)
Colette Patti ran 24.45, just off her personal best and the program record.
 
Grand Valley State Big Meet
Day One – Friday
5,000 meters
Freshman Harry Witt returned from injury to break the 15-minute barrier, running 14:59.
800 meters
Abbey Bolton recorded a personal best, placing 11th with a time of 2:17.66.
Mile (Women's Open)
Amanda Ferrante placed 17th, finishing in 5:10.65.
Mile (Men's Open)
Collin Brooks posted a personal-best time of 4:14.66.
3,000 meters
Hugo Hewitt ran a personal best of 8:21.87, finishing just ahead of teammate Mohamed Ensaad, who crossed the line in 8:27.53. Hewitt's performance earned him Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors.
4×400 relay
The quartet of Eric Kreuter, Salgado, Millar McElrea, and Prior set a new indoor school record with a time of 3:12.64.
Mile (Invitational)
Caleb Gilbert ran 4:08.69.
3,000 meters (Invitational)
Mathew Deli placed second with a time of 8:06.05.
Weight throw (Women's Open)
Joy Edward placed second with a personal-best mark of 17.68 meters, while Mia Huber finished fourth with a personal-best throw of 17.32 meters.
 
Grand Valley State Big Meet
Day Two – Saturday
Weight throw (Women's Open)
Edward and Huber returned to the ring and matched their placements without surpassing their marks from day one.
Weight throw (Men's Open)
Luke Messinger placed 10th with a mark of 17.37 meters, while Julian Matthews finished 11th at 17.09 meters. Messinger later improved to 18.17 meters to place third.
Shot put (Men's Invitational)
Aidan Corbett placed ninth with a throw of 16.28 meters.
Shot put (Men's Open)
Corbett returned to place third with a mark of 16.64 meters.
Shot put (Women's Invitational)
Joy Edward placed sixth with a mark of 14.38 meters.
Distance medley relay
The men's DMR placed fourth in a fast heat with a time of 9:50.
200 meters
Eric Kreuter and Millar McElrea doubled back to run 22.34 and 22.54, respectively.
