Evan Faulkner (Sandyhook, Ky.) paced the University of Charleston men's basketball team with 17 points as the Golden Eagles torched the nets for 51 percent from the floor, while booking a +15 rebounding margin as they bounced back into the win column with an 89-63 victory over Ohio Valley.
Charleston (13-5, 8-4) went through their deep bench to outscore OVU (5-9, 5-6) 40-to-14 with non-starters. The domination continued on the boards that allowed the Golden Eagles to hold a 15-to-2 edge in second chance points to go along with 21 points off turnovers allowing the visitors to run away on the scoreboard.
Faulkner led the scoring effot with 5-of-8 shooting from the floor that included three shots from behind the arc, while booking 4-of-8 shots at the charity stripe.

Eladio Espinosa (Norlina, N.C.) had a big day with a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. Guards
Paul "PJ" Reyes (Taylor, Mich.) and
Philip Outley (West Monroe, La.) rounded out the double-digit scorers for UC with each netting 11 points.
On the afternoon the Golden Eagles forced 20 turnovers and played lock-down defense to allow Ohio Valley to shoot just 40 percent.
The University of Charleston gets back on the court within the friendly confines of Eddie King Gym on Monday, Jan. 23 for an 8:00 pm matchup against WVIAC opponent Bluefield State. UC will hope to replicate their effort from the opening conference game of the season when the Golden Eagles handled BSC 106-68.
