Women’s Soccer Use Dominant Second Half to Defeat Concord

The Golden Eagles waited till the last ten minutes of the match to defeat Concord University 2-1 at Anderson Field in Athens, WV.

In the first Abby Barber put Concord on the board in the 28th minute for her fifth of the year. Concord held a 10-5 shot advantage over the University of Charleston.

In the second, Coach Diuguid made a change at goal with Megan Bauman and was rewarded with clean half. Bauman was credited with three saves over five shots by the Mountain Lions. The Golden Eagles were more successful in the second with eight shots. In the 83rd minute, Kimberly D'Angelo was able to break away from the defenders and send a strike past the goal keeper to tie up the match. Not long after (88th minute), Lydia Murray took a pass from Danielle Siegrist to fire a shot for her fifth goal of the season. The Golden Eagles closed out the Mountain Lions in the remaining minutes without another shot on goal.
