Charleston Dominates Foul Plagued Game Over Blues, 92-63

Box Score Charleston, WV – The University of Charleston won big over Bluefield State Thursday night at Eddie King Gym with a score of 92-63.
 
In a game that was plagued by fouls, Charleston (16-7, 12-7 WVIAC) came out on top by jumping on the Blues in the first half, holding a 19-point advantage, 51-32, going into the locker room. UC went to its bench early and often during the first 20 minutes, getting contributions from 11 Charleston players.  The Golden Eagles had three guys score in double digits going into the locker, led by Faulkner’s 17 points on five for six shooting, including hitting all three of his 3-point attempts.
 
Charleston would build on its big halftime lead pushing the lead out to 29, 85-56, again getting solid contributions from the entire lineup.  Charleston would close out the game with a 92-63 win over the Blues from Bluefield State (3-20, 3-16).  For the game, there were 50 fouls called making it difficult for either team to find any kind of offensive rhythm. 
 
The Golden Eagles were led in scoring by Faulkner who finished with 24 points and had three other UC players contribute double-digit efforts with Dreher (16 points), Lipkins (20), and Washington (16).
 
Charleston will return to action Monday as they host Glenville State with tip-off set for 7:30pm.
