GOLDEN EAGLES DON'T FALTER, WIN THIRD STRAIGHT, 83-70

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Senior's Denzel Douglas and Xavier Humphrey led the Golden Eagles of the University of Charleston to a 83-70 victory Thursday night knocking off the Blue Knights of Urbana University.

Douglas's career high 12 rebounds, joined with his 12 points and seven assists gave him his first double-double of the season while Humphrey drained four three-pointers and added a game high 24 points on the evening. UC, who trailed by two at the half came out and scored the first six points of the second half taking the lead for good with just over 19 minutes left to play. Solid production inside continued from Aleksander Kesic scoring 18 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Freshman Denio Chirindja added 12 points off the bench and Tino diTrapano's 10 points rounded off the double-digit performances for the Golden Eagles.

UC connected on 63 percent of their shots in the second half creating some space and a lead that reached as many as 17 while Urbana only connected on eight field goals shooting 34 percent in the half.

The Blue Knights were led by Dusan Komljenovic with 17 points, Casey Baker with 16 points, and Danny Goins added 14 points in their attempt to win their first game of the season. With the loss, they fall to 0-24 on the season and 0-20 in the Mountain East Conference.

Charleston wins their third straight for the third time this season and moves to 16-7 on the season, 13-6 in MEC play. UC is back in action Saturday, Feb. 22 against Notre Dame College with tip-off set for 4:00p.m.
