Emily Bokanovich threw a NCAA qualifying mark in the javelin throw Saturday morning at the Shamrock Invitational. It is the third consecutive year Bokanovich has meet the NCAA standard and first UC athlete to do so. Her mark of 41.20m is 26cm ahead of her best last year in less than favorable wind conditions. Coach Blankenship, "Emily had cross winds and swirls, it was really unfortunate. She had a couple throws that should have went close to auto (qualifying), but the wind just knocked them down. Great start non the less for Bokan." Last season, Bokanovich finished 11
th at the NCAA National Championship.
Maria Castillero led the charge in the sprints today posting the best time in the 200m while anchoring the 4x100 team to a season best 52.89. Maitri Pansania had another strong showing in the jumps falling just short of both her top marks from last week.
