Virginia Beach, Va. — The University of Charleston track and field team concluded the indoor season at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center, as two Golden Eagles represented the women's team on the national stage.
Laura Delgado de Torres competed in the women's triple jump and finished 15th in the nation with a mark of 11.82 meters, earning Second Team All-American honors. Delgado de Torres finished just shy of her personal best while competing against the top triple jumpers in Division II.
Joy Edward entered the women's shot put competition seeded 14th in the nation and delivered the biggest throw of her career. Edward recorded a personal best of 15.48 meters, nearly half a meter farther than her previous best, to finish eighth in the nation and earn First Team All-American honors.
