Box Score FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Jonathan Tshibuy's 19 points from the Golden Eagle bench wasn't enough as Charleston suffered a 95-78 loss to the no. 2 ranked Fairmont State Fighting Falcons on Sunday evening at Joe Retton Arena.
Â
UC ends a murderous stretch of road games versus top-10 opponents going 0-3 following Sunday's loss at Fairmont State. Justin Coleman posted a double-double for Charleston, scoring 12 and pulling down 12 rebounds. UC got great bench production, accounting for 45 points behind Tshibuy's 19 and LeJavius Johnson's 18 respectively.Â
Â
It marks the third consecutive game that the Golden Eagles have given up at least 94 points after the Falcons posted 95 Sunday on Charleston. UC had a hard time stopping the Falcons' Thomas Wimbush who poured in 30 on the Golden Eagles, shooting 10-for-11 from the field and hit on all five of his attempts from behind the arc.
Â
UC kept the game close throughout the first 20 minutes, cutting a Falcon to lead to only six, 38-32, after a pair of free throws by Jaylen Hinton before finding themselves down by 10 heading into halftime. Despite falling behind by as many as 17 in the second half, Charleston would cut the deficit to just 10 with two and a half minutes to play. Unfortunately for Charleston, they could only score one point during the final two minutes allowing the no. 2 ranked Falcons run away with the 17-point win.
