Box Score CHARLESTON, WV. – The Golden Eagles (8-5, 4-3 MEC) lost in overtime to the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals (10-2, 6-1 MEC) on Thursday night. Two Freshman, Seth O'Neal and Riley Heatherington had breakout performances to help lead the Golden Eagles.

How It Happened
-The Golden Eagles jumped to an early 11-7 lead, but the Cardinals would tie it up with 12 minutes left to play in the half (11-11).
-With just over eight minutes left to play the Cardinals took a 17-13 lead over the Golden Eagles.
-The Cardinals held a five-point lead with just over four minutes to play in the first half. Keir Anderson hit a bucket and was fouled but could not convert from the free throw line. Charleston brought the score within three (23-20).
-Shaq Speights sunk a three ball with just over two minutes to go to cut the Wheeling Jesuit lead to just one point (26-25).
-Malik Young drove it home to tie the game up with one minute left to play (29-29).
-Preston Boswell converted for a three-point play with 30 seconds to take the 32-29 lead over the Golden Eagles. The teams would head into the break with the Cardinals leading the Golden Eagles 32-29.
-After the break, the Cardinals extended their lead to 37-31 with 17 minutes left.
-With 14 minutes left to play Austin Howard scored in transition to cut the Wheeling lead to just two points.
-The Cardinals went on a 6-2 run with 11 minutes left to go, to lead Charleston 50-42.
-Riley Heatherington knocked down two straight threes to bring the game within three for the Golden Eagles (51-48).
-With just over eight minutes to play Seth O'Neal hit a three ball to put the game within one (55-54).
-A three-point play from the Cardinals gave them the 58-54 lead over Charleston, but O'Neal would score in transition to put the game within two.
-With three minutes left to play the Golden Eagles brought the score to 67-64, the Cardinals would hold on to their lead with a score of 71-67 with just under two minutes left in regulation.
-Riley Heatherington hit a three with 1:13 left to play to once again bring the score within three.
-With 20 seconds left to play Seth O'Neal hit a three to tie the game up for UC.
-Time ran out with the score tied at 75-75. Sending the game into overtime.
-Wheeling Jesuit jumped to a 78-75 lead in the first minute of the first overtime period, but Lamont McManus cut the score to 78-75 on the next possession.
-The Cardinals increased their lead to four points with just over two minutes to play. Charleston fell in overtime to the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals 90-87.

-Freshman Seth O'Neal led UC with 15 points and two assists in just 11 minutes on the court. Freshman forward Riley Heatherington also had a career night with 12 points in the loss.
-Senior Keir Anderson also Tallied 14 points.
Cardinal Individual Leaders
-Pat Moseh led Wheeling Jesuit with 30 points in the win.
