CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Charleston Men's & Women's Track took top honors at the UC Relay and Alumni Invitational this past weekend at UC Stadium, outlasting runner-up Rio Grande in both men and women.
A couple new meet records were set by Golden Eagles in the process of winning the meet. Junior discus thrower
Abby Watson threw 40.35 meters in her first-place finish for Charleston while
Jamaicia James ran a sub 13-second 100m (12.99) to win the 100 and establish a new mark for the invitational.
Relay teams in the women's and men's 100m shuttle hurdles and the men's distance medley relay (11:07) also set new meet marks for the Golden Eagles.

On the men's side Charleston finished with 215 points to finished ahead of Rio Grande (170) and third-place finisher Ohio Valley (104). The Golden Eagle women (220) nearly doubled the score of Rio Grande (111) with Ohio Valley (91) taking third in the women's field as well.
Charleston returns to the track on April 6
th and 7
th at High Point University in High Point, N.C. The Golden Eagles will be competing in the Vert Klasse Meeting hosted by the Panthers at Vert Stadium.
