Four Golden Eagle Indoor Records Fall at Midwest Open

RESULTS

GENEVA, Ohio -- University of Charleston men's indoor track set four new marks this past weekend at the Midwest Open hosted by the Spire Institute.

Charleston's Jack Mastandrea set a Golden Eagle best in the 5k on his way to a first place finish with a time of 14:34.  His time is an NCAA Provisional qualifying time and currently 29th best in all of NCAA Division II.  Golden Eagle thrower Nathan Stout joined Mastandrea as an NCAA Provisional qualifier by setting a new UC mark in the Shot Put with a throw of 16.36 meters which gave him fourth place in the loaded event.

Tre Brooks added another record to his name, this time sprinting to a 1:56.52 time in the 800m and a third place effort.  Brooks earlier set the 1000m mark.  The final indoor record to be set was the Distance Medley Relay with Riley Modini, Job Ijtsma, Tre Brooks and Liam Mumford joining forces to finish the relay in 10:21.29 and claim third overall.

Other notable finishes:
60m - Aaron Banks - 6.97 (5th)
400m - Zack Markcum - 48.59 (1st)
Long Jump - David Morales-Perez - 6.50m (2nd)
