Women's Cross Country Qualifies for Nationals For The First Time In Program History

Charleston, W.Va- The Golden Eagle Women's Cross Country Team made placed third in the regional on Saturday morning. The placement would give them an automatic bid to the NCAA National race in Saint Leo, Florida.

Charleston as a team had a 22:22 average time among all competitors. Two runners would place in the top 10 and 4 would place in the top 50.
 
UC's Elise Leveel was crowned as the individual champion finishing her race with a 5:40.6 pace and a total time of just 21:09.9.
Mercy Jepleting finished 10th overall with a time of 21:46.4, which would earn her a regional team selection.
 
Rounding out the leaderboard for UC: Lilly Dowdell came in 34th with a time of 22:46.6. Flora Tissier ran the 6k in 22:50.5, followed by Lia Markert who finished 54th at 23:21.1 and Madison Wooline at 55th with a time of  23:21.5. Finally, Lena Kaster would finish in 63rd with a time of 23:36.2.
