CEDARVILLE, Ohio – On March 27
th, the University of Charleston Men's and Women's Track & Field teams competed at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Invitational. With a handful of athletes competing,
Matthew Forrester was the top finisher in the 1500m, winning the event with a new school record of 3:56.75. In addition,
Kellen Tropeck set a new school record for the Discus, with a throw of 48.20m while finishing 3
rd in the event.
Top Highlights: Men
- Forrester was the top finisher in the 1500m, winning the event with a new school record of 3:56.75
- Tropeck finished 7th in Shot Put with a throw of 15.06m. He also finished 3rd in the Discus with a throw of 48.20 (Charleston record)
- In the 200m, Daniel Mullenax finished 5th with a time of 21.96 seconds and 3rd in the 400m with a time of 49.69 seconds.
- Warren Thiel competed in the 400m, finishing just behind Mullenax with a time of 49.71 seconds while placing 4th.
- Colin Hunkele finished 7th in the 400m with a time of 50.41 seconds.
- Michael Garrett competed in the High Jump, finishing 6th overall with a 1.90m jump.
- In the Steeplechase, Dennis McCheskey finished 3rd (9:51.83), Anthony Bradford finished 6th (10:17.39), and Ryan Blackwell finished 8th (10:20.80)
Top Highlights: Women
- Eve Hine competed in the 400m, finishing 5th with a time of 59.90 seconds
- Miriam Dreher competed in the 100m, finishing with a time of 15.48 seconds, good for 8th overall. In addition, Dreher competed in the Long Jump, finishing 14th overall with a jump of 4.95m.
- Louise Cranston competed in the Long Jump, finishing 17th with a jump of 4.82m. 17th. In addition, Cranston competed in the 200m, finishing with a season best 26.44 seconds, good for 17th overall.
- Azaria Pack finished 11th overall in the High Jump with a jump of 1.48m.
