Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio. – The University of Charleston Lacrosse program (1-1, 0-0 MEC) fell to the Cavaliers of Walsh University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 19-7. Charleston was led by
Elishia Davis, who tallied a trio of goals while freshman
Tess Yuhas scored a pair of her own.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cavaliers controlled the game from the start, allowing just four first half goals while scoring nine of their own. In the opening frame, Walsh struck first on a goal from Kendra Cowen-Tripp within the first five minutes of the game. Charleston answered back quickly on a goal from
Destiny Jackson, but from there it was the Cavaliers who rattled off seven straight goals to take an 8-1 advantage with 11 minutes remaining in the half.
Charleston was able to cut their deficit down to just five headed into the break, scoring three of the final four goals in the half; one each for Yuhas, Davis, and
Kayleigh Burns.
In the second half, Walsh was able to score the first two goals before Davis and Yuhas evened the second half score. Once again, Walsh then exploded for six unanswered goals over a 16-minute period to take a 17-6 lead. The offense ended for Charleston with 8:21 remaining in the game when Davis converted on a free position shot.
Walsh concluded the game scoring a pair of goals in the final five minutes.

Georgia Ryan collected eight saves while allowing 19 goals (.296 PCT), playing all 60 minutes of the contest.
In the matchup, the Cavaliers put 38 shots on net compared to 14 for the Golden Eagles. In addition, Walsh led the way in ground balls (21), caused turnovers (18), and free position shot percentage (.800). Charleston led the way in draw controls with 18.
