WHEELING, W.Va- The Golden Eagle Men's Basketball team is set to begin their run in the Mountain East Conference basketball tournament held at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia

  • Dwaine Osborne's squad is currently second in Division II in field-goal percentage.
  • They rank #16 in the NCAA and #1 in the MEC for rebound margin at 7.1
  • UC is top 20 in scoring offense in Division II
  • Since Jan. 31, Charleston is 8-2 with their only two losses coming to teams ranked ahead of them in the MEC (West Liberty, West Virginia State)
  • The Golden Eagles have made three trips to the MEC finals (2014, 2018, 2020)
  • Keith Williams was selected to the 2021-2022 All-MEC First Team after averaging 13.4 ppg and a .505 FG%.
  • Eddie Colbert was selected as 2021-2022 All-MEC Honorable Mention after leading the team in ppg at 14.2 and averaging 5.9 and leading the Golden Eagles in rebounds.
  • Lamont McManus was selected 2021-2022 All-MEC Second Team after averaging 4.7 rebounds per game (2nd), and adding a team leading 17 blocks.
  • They average 76.8% from the Charity Stripe on the year and are number five in the MEC for scoring offense at 84.8 ppg.
  • The Golden Eagles will face off against Concord University, who they swept 2-0 in the regular season 94-74 and 99-71.
  • Charleston is 8-3 on the road this season with their losses coming to West Virginia State, West Liberty, and Fairmont State.
