Men's Track and Field Wins Sixth Consecutive Outdoor Mountain East Conference Title

GLENVILLE, W.Va- The University of Charleston's Men's Track and Field Team won the 2022 Mountain East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Glenville State University. This marks their sixth consecutive outdoor MEC Title under head coach Nick Bias.

The events began on Sunday, May 1 and ended on Tuesday, May 3 with all events taking place at Glenville State University's Sue Morris Stadium.
 
The Golden Eagles were able to win six events in total. The combo of Chase Burston, Michael Garrett, Colin Hunkele, and Daniel Mullenax captured a win in the 4x400m relay while setting a record time time in the MEC Championships of 3:16.01 beating the previous time of 3:17.15.
 
Matthew Forrester placed first in the Men's 1,500m running in just 3:57.40. Kellen Tropeck won the discus throw after a heave of 50.30m while also winning the shot put thanks to a 16.91m throw. Matt Fairbain placed atop the leaderboard in the triple jump, bounding 14.13m. In the Men's Dec 400 Andre Swanpoel finished with a time of 53.77 and won that event.
