Williamsburg, Ky.—University of Charleston Outdoor Men's & Women's Track & Field kicked off their 2024 season at the University of the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet this past weekend. Although no records were broken, the teams tallied a total of 13 event victories.
The Golden Eagles that finished first in their events include Zane Chalker (Men's 1500m), Ashton Weaver (Men's 5000m), Roberto Agrizzi (Men's 110 Hurdles), Bram De Raedt (Men's 400 Hurdles), Mercy Jepleting (Women's 1500m), Lia Markert (10,000m), Minke Engelbrecht (Women's 100 Hurdles), Laura Delgado de Torres (Women's Long Jump), Abby McKinney (Women's Shot Put; Women's Discus) and Kalista Milne (Women's Javelin).
Charleston Women's Track & Field took home first place as a team where the scored 210 points, while the men took home second place with a score of 181. The University of Cumberlands' women finished in second place with 196 points, but their men defeated the Golden Eagles to take the cake in the men's division with a score of 216 points.
