ASHLAND, Ohio — The University of Charleston Track & Field teams put on an impressive display at the Ashland Invitational, highlighted by standout performances across the board, including Timber Huysmans' NCAA provisional mark in the men's 200 meters and multiple top MEC rankings from the women's team.
Men's Results
- 60 Meters:
Timber Huysmans and Massimo Pantano delivered strong performances, finishing 7th (6.88) and 8th (6.94), respectively, with Evan Daniels placing 20th (7.13).
- 60 Meter Hurdles:
Massimo Pantano earned a 7th-place finish in 8.16, followed closely by Rob Agrizzi in 8th (8.27).
- 200 Meters:
Huysmans dominated the event, taking 1st place with a blazing 21.31, an NCAA provisional time that currently ranks him 7th nationally. Daniels (22.72) and Agrizzi (22.83) finished 19th and 23rd, respectively.
- 400 Meters:
Carlos Gomez ran a 51.03 to finish 16th, while Millar McElrea placed 19th in 51.43.
- 800 Meters:
Matthew O'Shea clocked a 1:59.53 for 20th overall.
- 1 Mile:
Jules Geffroy-Remot placed 6th with a time of 4:19.14, while O'Shea followed in 10th at 4:23.31.
- 3,000 Meters:
Collin Brooks placed 10th in 8:43.09.
- Shot Put:
Frankie Winter threw 14.23m to secure 10th place, with Luke Messinger following in 17th (13.92m).
- Weight Throw:
Winter excelled in the weight throw, finishing 3rd with a 17.16m toss. Messinger (15.93m) and Nick Woolwine (11.77m) placed 6th and 38th, respectively.
Women's Results
- 60 Meters:
Colette Patti led the charge, finishing 5th overall with a time of 7.71, placing her 2nd in the MEC. Lydia Clarke (8.15), Alexandra Pekic (8.22), and Minke Engelbrecht (8.24) followed in 17th, 22nd, and 23rd.
- 60 Meter Hurdles:
Engelbrecht earned 4th overall with a time of 9.01, currently ranking her 2nd in the MEC. Payton Krafchek placed 17th (9.94).
- 200 Meters:
Patti (25.51), Maya Clark (25.80), and Cami Hoya (26.06) placed 6th, 8th, and 10th, respectively.
- 400 Meters:
Clark secured 5th overall in 58.12, with Hoya finishing 8th in 59.64.
- 800 Meters:
Abbey Bolton clocked 2:27.34 for 20th place, with Emma Newton following in 22nd (2:29.21).
- 1 Mile:
Bolton placed 10th overall with a time of 5:22.83, and Abby Anderson finished 25th in 6:00.91.
- Shot Put:
Mallory Crowder (11.76m) and Abby McKinney (11.75m) placed 14th and 15th, with Ella Nilsson finishing 25th (10.32m).
- Weight Throw:
McKinney earned a 3rd-place finish with a throw of 16.81m, claiming the top spot in the MEC. Brooke Burns followed in 4th at 16.37m, ranking 2nd in the MEC. Crowder (14.91m) and Nilsson (12.90m) rounded out the event in 11th and 21st.
- Long Jump:
Laura Delgado de Torres soared to 3rd overall with a 5.54m leap, placing her 2nd in the MEC. Kayla Lemkusplaced 21st (4.96m).
