INDIANA, Pa. - Despite four Golden Eagles recording double-digit kills Indiana (Pa.) managed to comeback for a tightly contested 3-2 win, Tuesday evening.
IUP (16-5) started out strong taking the first two games 25-22 and 25-23, but the Golden Eagles (10-8) evened the match taking the next two games in dominant fashion by scores of 25-19 and 25-15. The Crimson Hawks then responded with clutch hitting to take the fifth game 15-7 to secure the win.
Sophomore
Malleri Hardison (Uniontown, PA / Laurel Highlands) led Charleston with 15 kills and nine digs, while senior
Emmalee Luther (Fort Pierce, FL / John Carroll) continued to be an active offensive threat with 14 kills and eight digs.
Jasmine Howard (Stockton, CA / Edison) and
Chantal Hebron (Lexington Park, MD / Thomas Stone) also had double-digit scoring evenings with 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
Senior
Katie Williams (Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) had her third 50+ assist game of the season with 51 assists with 16 digs.
The Golden Eagles return to conference action on the road Friday, October 15 for a 6:00 pm match up at Davis & Elkins.
