Box Score Institute, WV - The UC Men spoiled Senior Day in Institute as Charleston ran away from the Yellow Jackets in convincing fashion, 92-75.

Much like the women's game before the men tipped off, the Golden Eagles quickly jumped out to a quick 10-point lead over the host Jackets with the exact score of 16-6.  However, the outcomes would be much different.  UC would continute to build on that early lead, jumping up by as many as 29 points but settled for a 23-point lead heading into the locker room with the scoreboard showing 50-27, in favor of the Golden Eagles.

The second half was a replica of the first half, with again UC dominating play extending their big first half lead out to 32 points at one period in the second half.  That big cushion allowed Coach Downey to play some of his bench a bit more and give his regulars some much needed rest before the conference tournament begins on Tuesday.  UC would close out the game with a 17-point win over rival WV State, 92-75.

Charleston had four guys score in double-digits, with Robbie Dreher (Greenville, SC) leading the way with 17 followed by Evan Faulkner (Sandyhook, Ky.) and Terrell Lipkins (Canton, Ohio) who scored 16 each. 

UC would finish the regular season with an overall record of 18-8 and a WVIAC mark of 14-8.

Oddly enough, Charleston will face WV State in the first round of the WVIAC tournament with UC coming in at the 5th seed and WVSU finishing 12th.  The game is slated for Tuesday night at the Eddie King Gym with tip-off set for 7:30pm.
