Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Aleksander Kesic's 22 points wouldn't be enough for the University of Charleston, as West Virginia Wesleyan defeated UC, 68-64 Thursday night at Eddie King Gymnasium.
Charleston, who trailed at the half 36-33, used an 11-0 run to cut the lead to three when Xavier Humphrey drained his third three of the night with just over five minutes to play. UC dug even more and went back inside to Kesic and cut what was a 14-point-lead to just one with 1:28 remaining. However, a three-point play by Wesleyan's Ray Warren and two missed lay-ups by Kesic sealed the victory for the Bobcats.Â
The Golden Eagles tallied three in double figures led by Keisc's 22 points, followed by Humphrey's 14, and Tino diTrapano adding 12 on the night. Senior point guard Denzel Douglas grabbed 11 rebounds to go with his three assists and five points.
Wesleyan, was led by TJ Thompson's 18 points and four rebounds, Brett Ervin with 13 points, and Tanner McGrew with 11 points and five rebounds.  With the victory the Bobcats move to 14-9 on the season and 9-6 in the Mountain East Conference.Â
UC moves to 13-7, 10-6 in the MEC. Charleston will look to break its three-game skid Saturday as it will travel to Glenville State University with tip-off slated for 4:00p.m.
