INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – University of Charleston men's soccer squad is the top seed in the Super Region 1-Atlantic Region of the 2016 NCAA Division II Tournament, it was announced Monday evening.

The field of 38 was revealed via a web broadcast on NCAA.com, and the Golden Eagles will be making their third consecutive trip to the NCAAs and have been the No. 1 ranked team in the region each of those years.

The Golden Eagles will host fourth-seeded West Chester (11-4-3) on Saturday evening at Schoenbaum Stadium with first whistle set for 7:00 p.m. The other semifinal pits PSAC champion Mercyhurst, the second seed in Super Region 1-Atlantic Region (15-4-1) against third-seeded Urbana (13-4-1), Mountain East Conference runner-up.

Charleston has reached at least the National Semifinals each of the past two years, falling in the National Championship to Lynn in 2014, 3-2, and then losing in the Final Four the following year to eventual National Champion, Pfeiffer, 2-1 in overtime. The Golden Eagles will be looking for the school's first ever NCAA National Championship in any sport

UC (16-2-1) won their fourth straight Mountain East Conference Tournament Championship, defeating Urbana University, 2-1, in the finals. The Golden Eagles also claimed the regular season title for the third consecutive season after posting 9-2-1 conference record before moving to postseason play. Â
