KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles moved up one spot in this week's NABC rankings. The Golden Eagles, who came into the season ranked 22nd in the polls, moved up a spot after the first week of collegiate play. The Mountain East Conference is expected to announce the Golden Eagles, as well as the remainder of the MEC Basketball schedules at a future date before play resumes.
A total of nine conferences have multiple teams in the pre-season top 25. The Mountain East Conference has three teams in No. 6 West Liberty, No. 19 Fairmont State and No. 21 Charleston, while the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference is represented by No. 7 Northern State, No. 13 Augustana and No. 25 Sioux Falls.
