With a nearly similar start to their last game against Notre Dame, the Golden Eagles fell behind early in the first half, as the Senators grabbed an early 6-0 lead after a pair of point from a trio of players. Charleston made their first field goal of the game just over three minutes into the contest from beyond the arc off the hands of
Isaiah Gable. The shot was the first of a 10-3 run that the Golden Eagles went on which brought the teams into the opening media timeout with Dwaine Osborne's crew up 10-9.
Out of the timeout, the Senators and Golden Eagles exchanged buckets from beyond the arc, but Charleston was able to gain a seven-point lead with 6:40 remaining in the half behind eight points (2-of-4 from 3PT) from Keith Williams.

Eddie Colbert III (8 pts) led the way for the Golden Eagles.
