Chad Duernberger, a 2006 graduate from the University of Charleston boasts an impressive record both as a player and coach of the Golden Eagles. On the field, Duernberger earned All WVIAC honors 2002, 2004, and 2005 earning All Atlantic Region honors in 2002. As leader of the Golden Eagles from 2008-2010 Duernberger started the tradition of what we know Charleston Men’s soccer to be today.  During his time as head coach, Duernberger made an NCAA Elite Eight Appearance, and NCAA Sweet Sixteen Appearance, and won the WVIAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship in back-to-back seasons. Duernberger was a two-time WCIAC coach of the year as well has National Coach of the Year in 2009.
