Hall of Fame
                
    Dawson, a 1951 graduate of Morris Harvey College, was inducted into the Golden Eagle Sports Hall of Fame in 1995. 
He competed as a duel athlete at Morris Harvey College in football and baseball.
Dawson was part of three WVIAC Championship football teams (1948, '50, & '51) including the undefeated 1950 team that won the Tangerine Bowl and was named the Small College National Champion.  Dawson led the nation in punting average that season.
Dawson helped lead Morris Harvey College to three WVIAC Championships (1948, '49 & '50) earning All-WVIAC honors in the 1948 and 1950 seasons as a pitcher.  In 1980, Dawson was voted as the Most Outstanding Right Hand Pitcher in WVIAC by coaches and athletic directors.
