John was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000. John was a member of the basketball team where he was a 4 year letter winner, was a 4 time WVIAC All Conference, WVIAC All Tournament and voted Most Valuable Played. John became a member of the 1000 Point Club and was recognized as an outstanding College Athlete of America.

John also participated in the baseball team where he was #2 Hitter in the WVIAC and had a .361 Batting Average.
