Hall of Fame
Brown was inducted into the Golden Eagle Sports Hall of Fame in 2006 and 1977 graduate of Morris Harvey College.Â
During his time at Morris Harvey College he was a four year letter winner for baseball and was voted as co-captain twice. He was awarded the NAIA Strike Out Record, the NCAA II Strike Out Record, the NCAA I Strike Out Record and was #1 in Nation for K's with 15.5 Strike Outs per game. He was named WVIAC All-Conference First Team, WVIAC All-Conference Special Honorable Mention, WVIAC Southern Division Champions twice and WVIAC Champ Runners-Ups twice.
After graduation he  was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies and later played for the St. Louis Cardinals before returning to Charleston as an assistant coach.
